This can help you too…

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 10:08 pm

First of all I want to say Hello to everyone! I am taking a few days a week to really work my business and get things rolling. I want to help Mothers to be able to work at home just like me.There are so many of us out there who want to stay home with our children or just have the comfort of working from home. I know myself how it is to struggle on a single income budget, and/or being a single work at home Mom. I’ve had a rough road and now I want to help those who need some help as well. Through my struggles my goal now is to make life a little easier for you! Clap

I have put together some resources that ARE paying me

and I want this to happen for you as well!

Ok, …   Are you ready to start making an income from home? Let’s go!

The first thing I tell everyone to do is to get a domain name and website.

Your going to need a website to get yourself on the online communities.

GDI (Global Domains International) is a very affordable domain name registry and website hosting provider. You can even try this website free for 7 days. Then it’s only $10.00 a month. With this website you will also be able to make a “income for life”. Residual monthly income just for helping others to get their own website as well.

I will be with GDI for 1 year in November. The income from this web site has grown by leaps and bounds each and every month! I know it will for you as well and I WILL help you!

Visit http://website.ws/mothersw#ticket to watch the video to see how you can get your own website amd make money from home.

Get your domain name and website now.. http://website.ws/mothersw

When you join the MWAH / GDI Team you will receive support and

training through email and yahoo groups.

Here are a few more opportunities that are paying me.

They are free to join and easy to do.

Cash Crate - Free to join. http://www.cashcrate.com/121730

This site is one of the BEST around in my book! You can make $10 EASILY!

Just complete a few offers or do quick surveys to earn cash.

($10 min. monthly payout.)  I made $14.69 my first month just doing a couple of surveys. The income potential is up to you! My goal was $10.00.

Proof - http://mothersworkathome.ws/cashcrateearrningsNOV.gif

myLot - Free to join. http://mylot.com/MothersWorkAtHome

myLot is another great way to earn income. I made $25.73 my first month. Again my goal was just $10.00  Proof of Payment - http://mothersworkathome.ws/mylotpaymentnov2006paypalaccount.gif

Are You Using Your Positive Attitude?

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 9:14 am

Hi Everyone, I found this article in an email from Mary my business partner on the MWAH Team.

We are always reading things to motivate us and others.

Read and apply these rules to your business and watch the change happen instanly!

Great Article.

5 Ways a Positive Attitude Can Help Your Business:
Developing a positive attitude will help you grow your business and
achieve success. Everyone has times when things in their business
do not go as planned. If you have a positive attitude, you will be
able to pass those obstacles and get back on track. When you have a
positive attitude, you will feel more confident in yourself and
your business abilities.
You will also notice that finding clients may become an easier
task. When you display a positive attitude, others will react to
that. They will want to hire you and recommend you to others.
A positive attitude can help other areas of your life as well,
including your health. People who are generally optimistic have
less heart disease. The following are some tips to help you develop
a more positive attitude.
Spend Time with Positive People and Avoid Negative People
Attitudes are contagious. When you spend time with positive people,
you will feel more positive. When you talk to a positive person,
you will find yourself in a more positive place.
On the other hand, bad attitudes are contagious, too. You have
probably heard the saying “misery loves company”. When you are
around people that are constantly complaining, you will find things
to complain about as well. Little things that you would normally
shrug off will seem to bring your whole day down. You will feel
drained of energy.
Once you lose your energy and motivation, it can be difficult to
get back into the swing of things. This can have negative
implications on your business. Going through periods of negativity
will be similar to spinning your wheels.
Be Nice To Others
Being nice to others will make you feel good about yourself and put
a positive spin on your day. This doesn’t mean that you should let
others take advantage of you.
Be Proactive
When you notice a problem coming up, do not wait until the last
minute to solve it. Be proactive and think of a solution before the
problem becomes serious. By keeping a step ahead of potential
problems, you will be able to avoid setbacks.
Stay Organized & Practice Time Management
When you are organized you will be more efficient and able to get
more things done. You will know what you want to accomplish each
day; and will be able to spend the day working, rather than looking
for your clients’ lost phone numbers or email addresses.
Consider Hiring a Coach
Many people are hiring coaches to help them achieve business
success. A coach will help you decide what you want out of your
business. They will help you set achievable goals and will also
hold you accountable for your actions.

4. Do you need a web designer?

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 4:28 pm
Do you need a web designer?  When everyone first begins a web site there are quite a few options you can choose from. You can try your hand at doing html, you can find free templates, or buy some type of program such as front page. I found it on ebay at a pretty reasonable price and it’s so easy to use! You can also save your own HTML and upload your design with FTP.

Here is a free FTP download for you. http://www.brandyware.com/freeftp.htm

If your not sure if you can do it on your own you will want to hire someone to help you. There are many work at home Moms who do web design and would love to help you get your web site up and going.

(I’ll come back later and add some links here for WAHM’s in web design!)

Most packages will be around $100-$1500. This is of course depending on what your web site needs to run efficiently. I would really look into what type of work they have been doing and also see how soon they will be able to build your site before you pay any up front money. You don’t want to have to wait 6 months for your web design! Also look at what their graphics for others look like. Make sure the style is something your going to enjoy.

3. What kind of hosting are you going to use?

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 12:39 pm
Today’s topic is Web Site Hosting. There are probably thousands of thousands of hosting providers out there just waiting for a new prospect to come their way. Since this is a work at home Moms Blog, I am going to try to give you links that lead to the work at home community.
What is Web Site Hosting?
DEFINITION - Hosting (also known as Web site hosting, Web hosting, and Webhosting) is the business of housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web sites. More important than the computer space that is provided for Web site files is the fast connection to the Internet. Most hosting services offer connections on T-carrier system lines. Typically, an individual business hosting its own site would require a similar connection and it would be expensive. Using a hosting service lets many companies share the cost of a fast Internet connection for serving files. More…
By now you should have your business name, domain name, and decided on what type of products your going to sell. It’s now time to think about a hosting provider. Your going to need to do a little research for yourself. You will need a provider who offers everything that your web site will require.
Think about your business for a minute. Will you need a shopping cart? Will you need message boards for communication? Will you need any scripts installed say, for link exchanges or maybe your own search engine? Each hosting provider will vary in the services that they offer. So think ahead about what your wanting in a hosting provider and what your web site will need to work and benefit your business efficiently.
For a hosting provider I would first have to recommend The Design Shoppe. The Design Shoppe would be a great first place to look for your hosting needs. Julie and Lori are great WAHM’s to work with. They can help you with pretty much anything that you or your business may need. They are also very prompt and professional! With many different hosting packages for you to choose from, I am sure you will find what you need. Most all of their hosting plans come with everything a business could possibly need and if you need an extra scripts installed they can help you with those set up as well. The control panel is very easy to navigate and you can have your site up and running in no time. There are many more providers out there you just have to find the right one for you and your business.
Most Hosting Providers Will Offer.. Just to name a few.
Web Space
E-Mail Address
Autoresponders
Sub-Domains
cgi-bin
Shopping Carts
Web Stats
FTP or Front Page Extensions
MySQL Database
Daily Backup of your Web Site
Password Protected Areas
Most Extras Will Include…
Java Chatroom
GuestBook
Blogs
Customer Relation Scripts
Image Galleries
Message Boards
E-Commerce
Polls and Surveys
Once you get your hosting provider in place, play with it to familiarize yourself with the control panel. You will need to either know some basic html or you will need to hire a web designer to build your site for you. Your provider may offer some free templates or scripts you can use to get you going. You can also check out Lisa Explains it All for a basic understanding of how to build your own website with HTML. The site is for kids, but it is a really great resource for the Adults too! You can also check out Microsoft Front Page for designing websites yourself. It is a easy program to use while trying to build a website. If you have Microsoft Office you may already have the program installed. If not you can buy it straight from microsoft or possibly cheaper on eBay.
We’ll talk more about web design tomorrow with our #4 Quick Question for Starting a Business. Keep checking back in to find out more tips on how you can Start a home based business online!

If your just wanting a referral website, or just a way to earn a substantial residual income from home I highly recommend getting a .WS domain name through Global Domains International. You can test the 7 day free trial! Then it’s only $10 a month.

2. What type of products will you sell?

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 10:59 am

OK, by now you should have your business name and hopefully the domain name of your choice.

Now, think of the products that you will be offering. You may be offering an online service, products you have made, or your drop ship items.

Think about the information for each product. Make sure you make detailed descriptions of each service you will be offering.

Do you have pictures or graphics that you will be using to show more about your service? You will need to make sure you have these images ready. If you have products you make at home be creative with your images. A backdrop and some arrangements will look really nice. I have even seen some products dressed for the “Seasons” or dressed up with flowers. That’s for you to decide of course.

You will also want to make sure that the customer knows how much the product is going to cost them. Let them know the total cost of the product, and If you have to include taxes. Make sure your buyer knows the shipping charges before hand.

These are just a few basic ideas to get you started.

Here is a quick check list.

1. Describe the products in full detail.
2. Include any images that will help the buyer to know what they are buying.
3. Let your buyers know the total cost plus any shipping charges if applicable.

Here is my Ad Shop where you can get some ideas. All of my services are online services only. There is no shipping. http://www.mothersworkathome.com/adshop

Tomorrow we will be talking about different hosting plans and services that you may require from a hosting provider.

1. What are you going to call your business?

Filed under: General — Kristy Woodby @ 12:02 am

Finding a name for your business can be the most important aspect to starting your home-based business. Think of the products that you have to offer. For example, if you offer “Wedding Supplies”. Have a name something like “Julie’s Wedding Supplies”, or “Weddings in a Bag” “Wedding Surprises” …you can see where I am going with these names. You can use your imagination but stay within your “theme”.

Once you have your business name, you will need to check on the domain name registry to see what your business website url will be.

You can go to http://www.godaddy.com to type in a search for domain names. If your site is going to be called “Julie’s Wedding Supplies”, look to see if juliesweddingsupplies.com is available. If the domain name is not available you will be giving other choices to use or you can keep trying to get a personalized domain that you want. Maybe something like jweddingsupplies.com.

Once you have established a domain name that is available you will then start looking for a hosting provider. I will be talking with you about that topic within the next few days. If your checking in everyday, take a day or two to think about the business name you want to really use. Don’t be in a rush, after all this will be your business name from here on out!

Good luck! Check back tomorrow for more business quick tips for starting, building, and promoting a home-based business.
